Here I will share with you the best spots for your photos on Aero. I will also give you instructions on how to get there and how much time to plan for each location.

All wedding photo shoot locations are within walking distance of each other, so you'll travel less and have more time for your wedding photos on Aero.

Why Aero?

The island of Aero is colorful, unique and offers many opportunities for your photos. Aero has a beautiful old town, a harbor, beach huts, beaches, nature and much more.

Who am I?

Before we get started, I would like to introduce myself. I am a wedding photographer on Aero and I got married on this beautiful island in Denmark.

I have photographed many weddings on Aero and know many places for the best possible wedding photos.

Tips for photo locations on Aero

Let me give you some tips, along with photo examples from Elke and Christian's wedding, which I photographed on Aero in July 2023.

Town hall in Aeroskobing

Firstly, if you are getting married on Aero, you will most likely start with the town hall in Ærøskøbing where you will say your vows.

The wedding ceremony is very short and to the point. It lasts about 10 minutes.

Old town of Aeroskobing

After the ceremony, I go to the old town of Ærøskøbing for the photos with my couples. As a wedding photographer, I absolutely love taking wedding photos in Ærøskøbing. This place is absolutely beautiful and unique. The colorful buildings give the photos a very cool atmosphere.

How much time you need:

We spent about 25 minutes in Ærøskøbing with Elke and Christian. We took a lot of beautiful and authentic photos there. If you plan a maximum of 30 minutes for your wedding photos in Ærøskøbing, that should be more than enough. This place is not very big and within 30 minutes you can take a lot of beautiful photos in all places in Ærøskøbing.

• A place like no other

• Lots of flowers in summer

• Lovely people who are always happy to help

• Fantastic views

How to get to Aeroskobing:

You can walk from the town hall to the old town of Ærøskøbing in 3 minutes. You can use Hotel Ærøhus, Vestergade 38, 5970 Ærøskøbing, as a reference point.

If you are travelling by car, you can drive 1 minute towards Netto and park your car in front of it (Vestre Allé 4, 5970 Ærøskøbing). Then you can walk 2 minutes to Ærøskøbing Old Town.

Port of Aeroskobing

Right in front of Netto or your parking space you will see boats and the harbor (Strandvejen 4B, 5970 Ærøskøbing). As a wedding photographer I can highly recommend taking some nice photos here.

Why port:

• Beautiful view

• Lots of water

• ships

• Just a cool place

How to get to the port:

If you park your car in the parking lot in front of Netto, the harbor is right in front of you. If you are on foot, it takes 3 minutes to get here from the old town of Ærøskøbing.

Beach huts on Aero

No wedding photoshoot is complete without photos in front of the beach huts on Aero. The beach huts on Aero are very unique and colorful. At this point you can, like Elke and Christian did, open the champagne to celebrate your love and a successful photoshoot 🙂

Why beach huts:

• Very unique

• Colorful

• You definitely won't find a place like this anywhere else

• Colorful huts look fantastic in combination with the blue sky and blue water

• Simply a beautiful place

How to get there:

By car it takes 3 minutes, on foot 14 minutes from the harbor (Vestre Strandvej 2, 5970 Ærøskøbing)

How much time:

With Elke and Christian, we needed about 3 minutes for the photos near the beach huts. If you have more time, you can plan up to 15 minutes for your photo shoot there. There are many beautiful beach huts that will look perfect in your wedding photos.

Beach and trail

After taking photos of the beach huts, you can walk a few meters to the path. It's a nice addition since you're already there anyway.

Beach

As a final stop for the wedding photos, I recommend Aero Beach.

There are usually not as many people there as in other places. Often there is no one on the beach. It is almost like a private beach for you. 🙂

With my couples, we use the beach as the last location for wedding pictures on Aero. Then my couples can go into the water, walk along the beach, play with the water, etc. without worrying about getting the dress dirty. It's the last location for the photoshoot on Aero anyway.

Why Beach:

• Usually there is no one on this beach

• You can walk barefoot

• Lots of water

• Perfect for natural and authentic photos

• You can have a lot of fun

How to get to the beach:

5970 Ærøskøbing, Denmark. It is 2 minutes by car and 6 minutes on foot from the beach huts. You can park your car on the hill and walk to the beach.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are so many beautiful places on Ærø in Denmark that you can easily reach from the town hall in Ærøskøbing.

I usually plan up to 2 - 2.5 hours with my couples for the entire photo shoot (including the ceremony and wedding photo shoot). Sometimes we plan a little more if guests are also there.
